Academic Information

After due inspection, both by Karnataka University and Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi, the college and hospital were granted recognition by C.C.I.M. New Delhi in the year 1992.  Further R.G.U.H.S. came into existence 1996 and all the medical institution of Karnataka state were brought under the R.G.U.H.S. for affiliation.  Without any interruption the University and the apex body continuously recognize our college.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION:

       The candidates seeking admission to B.A.M.S. course must fulfill the following conditions of eligibility.

  • EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:

The candidate shall have passed the second year PUC examination conducted by the PUC board, Karnataka State (English) Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects or any other examinations recognized as equivalent by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, with minimum 50% for general caste and 40% for category I, ST and SC in PCB.

OR
       Intermediate sciences examination of an Indian University/Board or other recognized examining body with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, with 50% in aggregate which includes a practical test in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject.

OR
       The First year of three year degree course of a recognized University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with 40% in aggregate which include a practical test in these subjects provided the examination is a university Examination.

OR
       B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) or Chemistry, Botany and Zoology examination of an Indian University provided that the candidate has passed B.Sc examination and has secured at least 50% in any of two subjects studied at degree level and has passed the earlier qualification examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.

  • MINIMUM AGE

The candidate must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or by October of the year of admission.

ELIGIBILITY FOR OTHER THAN KARNATAKA STATE STUDENTS

  • EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:

The candidates must have passed +2 with 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology or 40% in 1st Year of three rears degree course with CBZ.  Same conditions will apply for the SC & ST candidates.

  • ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE:

The candidates outside Karnataka must approach to the Registrar, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore with following documents to obtain eligibility certificate to get admission in BAMS course.

    • Photostat copies of marks cards of the qualifying examination.

    • Date of birth certificate as recorded in School/College.

    • The Demand Draft of Rs. 1,000-00 drawn in favor of “Registrar, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore” , payable at bangalore.

THE COURSE OF STUDY:

       The syllabus which is prescribed by Central Council of Indian Medicine, New Delhi for B.A.M.S. is implemented.

ATTENDANCE:

       80% of attendance is compulsory in all subjects for Theory classes, Practical and clinical classes.

EXAMINATION:

INTERNAL
      
       Internal Assessment Examination in theory and practical will be held, as per the regulations of the University from time to time in the interval of 5 months.  The average marks of best of two will be sent to University, which will add these to every professional University Examination.

UNIVERSITY EXAMINATION:

       After the end of every 1.1/2 years, the university Examination for every Professional will be held as per the calendar of University.   Each subject will have theory papers, Viva Voce and Practical/clinical examination as per the regulations.

COMPULSORY INTERNSHIP:

       

One year compulsory rotating internship will commence soon after the announcement of final B.A.M.S. result.  They have to work in all the department of the hospital, and community health camps conducted as per the schedule.
